He was voted to become the sec 2's Vice Captain in 2006. Xin Yang is a very caring person who always puts others before himself. The sacrifices he has made to the team and his friends are great. Yang is also a quick learner, especially if it has to do with any electronic games. He is also one of the best DOTA players in school(:Xin Yang is currently rowing a C2 along with his partner, Joel. He used to row in a T1 in Sec 1 & Sec 2, and even got 4th place during the Inter-School Canoeing Competitions. As the Vice Captain, many find him very responsible and capable.
Along with several other canoeist, Xin Yang got into the Maths & Physics TDP class in 2008.
